Simple Smokey Eyes for Monolids

Some of you who has monolid eyes might think that smokey eyes aren't for you. Oh nothing at all.. In fact you can stand out also with this look just as double lid people do.

Today I will share to you how to create a simple smokey eyes look for monolid eyes. Asians usually have monolid eyes, just like mine.
In the right way, monolid eyes could be as gorgeous as double lid eyes. It just needs unlimited creativity and sometimes a little daring to block the eyes with monochromatic color.

When I did this, I was in rush to go to some night event after doing my work. So I need to do a quick make up that look effortless yet pretty and gorgeous also.

Eye Makeup

Eyeshadow Primer – my go-to concealer by The Face Shop

Eyelid                     - Matte Brown Eyeshadow by LT Pro (for base)
                               - Black Cream Eyeshadow by Etude House (for lids and contour area)
                               - Diamond Glow palette eyeshadow for highlight by Maybelline

Eyeliner                 – Tony Moly Gel eyeliner, NYX eyeliner pencil +LT Pro Liquid Eyeliner

Eyebrow                – Drawing Eye brow by Etude House

See, It looked very simple! The main element is your black eyeshadow.

Here, I used my grey black eyeshadow instead of a black eyeshadow because I don't want my eyes to look very intense. I want my eyes to look sexy but also warm and elegant, that's why I used my favorite brown eyeshadow as a base to give a warm touch. I love love this brown eyeshadow because you can never go wrong with this kinda matte eyeshadow. Also, the color is just perfect for any neutral make up or as a base for any smokey eyes look.

After you apply the black shadow on your lids, extend it upwards and then blend it out to soften the harsh edge. The key is dare to be bold when applying a black eyeshadow onto your lids, but It's important to blend properly, you don't want your eyes look like a ghost :p Don't worry you don't have to be perfect, practice is the key :D

Don't forget to line your waterline with black eyeliner, here I'm using eyeliner pencil and I layer it up with liquid liner.

You're almost done, finish it off by giving a highlight color on your brow bone to accentuate your final look. Use your white eyeshadow, better with shine powder or pearl effect to make it more stand out!

It's an option, but you can also use eyelashes. I'm not using it by the way just because I was in a rush but I think the final look is just simply gorgeous anyway!

For the lips, you can use any color you like. For me It's better with neutral or nude lipstick but I think It will look fabulous also with red lipstick. Go ahead and choose your color!

Good luck ;)

Love,
Mei
